Beadnell, Northumberland Coast
The picturesque and peaceful village of Beadnell is situated on the Northumberland coast, approximately 10 miles from Alnwick and 40 miles north of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Charming and accessible, this is one of the most popular holiday villages on the Heritage coast. The village boasts a stunning beach along this stretch of coastline which extends over 3 miles southwards, all the way to Newton-by-the-Sea. The cottage is situated on the tip of the Beadnell Peninsula with wonderful views over the Harbour and expansive bay.
Travel in any direction from Beadnell and you will find places of interest. The village is within easy reach of Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick Castle and Gardens and Holy Island. Plus it is only a short boat ride from The Farne Islands, with their sea bird colonies and seals. If you fancy going a little bit further afield then you can enjoy a day trip to Edinburgh or Newcastle by car or by train from either Alnmouth or Berwick.

There are an infinite number of activities to choose from nearby. These include an array of watersports such as sailing, kayaking, surfing, windsurfing and even kitesurfing. Not to mention the golfing, riding, fishing, boat trips and the various tourist attractions in the area. There are plenty of walks to choose from for all appetites. As well as extensive coastline walks, The Cheviots, which lie to the west, offer great opportunities for gentle rambles or more ambitious hikes.

The walls of Beadnell Harbour were built in the 1790s, as were the limekilns, which are now under the protection of the National Trust. The village has been inhabited for several thousand years, and Bronze-Age burial chambers have been discovered along the shore. Just east of the harbour, at Ebb's Neuk Point, lie the ruins of a 13th century chapel. Legend has it that Oswald, King of Northumbria, built the original for his sister, St Ebba, in the 7th century.

Beadnell is conveniently located only 3 miles from Seahouses, where you will find a supermarket and a range of cafes, restaurants and gift shops. Alnwick is only 9 miles away with a larger supermarket and a greater range of shops and restaurants.
Beadnell Village
The oldest building in the village, the sixteenth century Pele, still remains as a part of the popular public house; The Craster Arms which is located in the heart of the village. This friendly and welcoming pub has a beer garden and grassed area outside, perfect for enjoying the sunshine while the children play safely. The village also boasts another impressive public house, The Beadnell Towers Hotel. The food here is lovely and can be enjoyed both in the pub and the restaurant.
